Sharad Ghimire is a Master’s candidate in the Global Environmental Politics program in the School of International Service at American University.  He received an M.S. in Botany in 1999 from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and an M.A. in Environmental Security and Peace in 2007 from University for Peace, Costa Rica. His major fields of academic interest are environmental governance and environmental politics. He has done research and published articles and co-edited various books on environmental justice, food security, environmental security and climate change policies in Nepal. In the past he was associated with Kathmandu-based research institute, Martin Chautari, as a researcher. He was also a faculty member at the Central Department of Conflict, Peace and Development Studies, of Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal.
